NANA Chapter 81: “At That Time, I Made Such a Promise. I Am Sorry for Not Fulfilling It.”

nana1 Minnie: I know I have been really lazy when it comes to manga chapters. Oh well. I will make it up today. Since TZM consistently blogs Vampire Knight, I will also do so with NANA at least. Besides, NANA updates monthly which isn’t too bad for blogging. It is horrible on the waiting though. NANA is my second favorite manga of all time, right after Fruits Basket, and I have to patiently wait for updates monthly? The waiting is excruciating. I’m thankful for school, fiction, and the blog to keep me busy or else, I will start saving a ton of NANA pictures out of pure boredom. For those of you who haven’t read NANA, you should try it. If you don’t like it, drop it immediately, but you may be surprised how much fun drama + realism really hit you when you watch NANA. Like Bokura Ga Ita, you can’t fully appreciate these anime without being in a relationship but you can feel the realism in them anyway. The anime is quite good too because it follows the manga strictly without changing much. The music in that anime is quite catchy. Every OP and ED are picked out thoroughly, making it fitting for the work as a whole. That’s enough for my daily NANA advertising. I need to move on with the chapter don’t I? Please enjoy my Minnie review on NANA chapter 81.

i feel the same way T.T i don’t care about takumi, i care about nana’s and Hachi’s friendship….
and this moment (the kiss) was the best since the drama about the baby .

  Yeah… Nana/Nana forever! Friendship or more, I don’t care which. I love shows that show that even though a character has a love interest, they have a character they can depend on that goes beyond sexual relations you know? Thanks for the comment!

At this point I don’t seem to expect any more bombshells since the present is catching up to the future story. How the mangaka can keep this interesting, I have no idea. We’re still riding the after-Ren arc, and the only plot points left to consider are those of Nana’s mother, and the two future kids.

  On the contrary, I actually expect more bombshells because unlike what I predicted, Nana did not leave the gang right after Ren’s death. In the future, she is separated from everyone else and everyone is searching for her years later. Something in the future will provoke enough emotion into her to make her disappear. And that is what I am waiting for. I do agree that this manga is coming to an end…. soon?

I thought Takumi did good (even though I don’t like him) in this one cuz I think he was thinking of Nana O’s feeling just alittle and knew to let Hatchi be with her.

Am I one of the few who absolutely adore the Takumi and Hachi pairing? It makes my day the minute any progress (agonizingly slow progress, but still) is made between the two. Of course I love them as individual characters as well.

But yes, this chapter was awesome. I especially agree with your assessment (i.e. ramble xD) on Nana and Hachi’s relationship.

Definitely not Shirachi. I am a Takumi/Hachi fan too. It’s a lot more realistic than that idealistic relationship between her and Nobu. The progress is slow but it’s worth it in my opinion.

Vampire Knight Chapter 48: The Woes of Akatsuki Kain

A chapter in which Kain's feelings for Ruka aren't just fan conjecture.

Katt: Vampire Knight, Vampire Knight~ This chapter was posted a couple of days ago, but strangely enough I’ve been having a social life and haven’t had a chance to read it until now. What’s up with that? But now I’ve gotten to read it, and things are certainly taking their sweet time moving the plot forward. But I won’t complain since we are getting fun things, like a chapter dedicated to the thoughts of one of the more in-the-background Night Class vampires, Kain! I am sure that Minnie would prefer to see a chapter in which Shiki thinks about Rima, but I’ll settle for getting to learn the history of Kain’s unrequited love for Ruka.

  TZM, you know me too well. XD The good thing like you said is if Kain is getting a centric chapter… chances are the other characters will too! And this means Shiki/Rima~ Hopefully! If Ruka/Kain can be one-sided canon, Shiki/Rima must get something. ^^;; >Hopeless fan<
  
  This chapter is probably the first VK chapter in a while that I can understand without reading your blog entry right after TZM. I read it anyway because I love your writing. As a Kain/Ruka supporter, I approve of this chapter. Who cares about plot? XD More chapers like this please! (I’m sort of joking… not really XD)

  Now that this chapter has been released, I will be horribly disappointed if neither Shiki nor Rima get the same opportunity! It would make such a great chapter… And you’re not a hopeless fan; you’re a hopeful one. XD
  
  I guess this chapter wasn’t too tough to comprehend, eh? Hahaha. I am glad that you still took the time to read my entry, though! I expect the plot to return in the next chapter, but another break like this at some point would be great~

  (I feel like he should laugh maniacally here) <– when you said that, I though of a Light Yagami laugh there ~.~ *imagine Kaname with that laugh and his drug mode…* okay, that was scary.. <.<
  
  Anyway, this chapter was really cute, though I was rather waiting for much for more plot. But I forgive her, because this chapter contain Cain’s sweet flashback, which we all Cain/Ruka fans wants to see. I would become mad if there won’t be Shima scene (aka Shiki/Rima) as their fan.

Bakuman Chapter 22: Nuisance and Youth

Minnie: Exactly like Saiko says, this is the chapter I’ve been waiting for since last week. The chapter about how exactly Saiko will go about being his rival’s assistant. To me, it seems like a smack to the ego. If I am drawing constantly and my partner is going out to kiss his girlfriend, I’ll not be happy either and make hasty decisions. On the plus side though, I think Saiko will make some money out of this as well as experience. One, he can take this opportunity to learn more about Eiji and his style. Two, he can learn what it’s like to be an assistant. Plus, instead of drawing by himself in his studio, he can do it at Eiji’s apartment! Score! But then again, it means there will be a LOT less Shujin this chapter and he’s my favorite character! We’ll see what happens then…

Katt: I am so glad that I thought to check if the Vampire Knight manga had been updated before I went out tonight! It randomly popped into my mind that it was around update time, and ta-daaaa~ But oh, this tone I’m using isn’t really appropriate for this chapter. After all, this is the chapter where the pieces have to be picked up, or left behind…

  @Minnie: Glad I can provide decent analyses on the chapters! I seem to be understanding the recent chapters more than the earlier ones, ha ha. Apparently there is another arc to the manga before it ends; and if the first arc is any indication, lots can happen to change things.
  
  @Kiki: The first arc really has wrapped up very neatly. I wonder where it will go from here. It is nice (albeit depressing) to see that Zero is taking time to mourn Ichiru.

Bakuman Chapter 21: A Wall and a Kiss~

After a long break, Bakuman is back! With sports day~

Minnie: I am sick. Woe is me. But I am feeling better so I’ve been blogging all day because there’s a chance I’ll be outside in the fresh air all day tomorrow. Besides school, I usually don’t go out much on the weekend. It’s not that I have no life. It’s because I’m a writer and I like to stay indoors, typing. In any case, I don’t like to blog when I’m outside doing stuff so that’s understandable right? I’ll just work twice as hard today! Plus, Bakuman is out. Hurray. Continue to read what I have to say after two weeks or so.
