Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou Episode 12: “You Want to Protect Him? You’re so Kind.”

We are happy together ~ <3

We are happy together ~ <3

Minnie: Hello everybody! This week, I have more episodes to blog than usual because others are busy with school work again. Plus, Koala gave me permission to blog Shugo Chara so I will do so once I have enough free time on my hands. The new server is being fixed right now so I have to blog here again. That’s okay though because I like this website a lot. I just don’t like all the errors wordpress throws at us from time to time. Anyways, expect a couple of more reviews from me this week, including ToraDora’s last episode! For now, please read on for my Natsume review. I am replacing Katt this week. I hope she is able to tackle the finale!

Thanks so much for blogging this for me, Minnie! I will definitely be back for the finale.

I did enjoy this episode, but like you said–there wasn’t all that much going on. My favourite moment was when Tanuma and Taki were giggling as Kai listed off the names Natsume was called, hahaha.

This episode really was a set-up for the next one, which I am very excited for. While the last season left off with a calm celebration, this one looks like it will be much more dramatic. I feel so bad for Natsume: whenever he meets someone like him, something goes wrong! Either they have limits to their youkai perception, are jerks, are actually youkai, or are ambiguous like Natori… argh, poor boy!

Tell me about it. >__< It’s no wonder that youkais dislike humans so much and vice versa. Both groups can’t find a way to get along correctly. :( Natsume is really awesome for being able to get along with both… that’s why I don’t want him to lose either side. Both groups are a part of him now and I think he should keep it that way.

No problem TZM! This episode was fun to blog. I can’t wait to see your finale entry. ^^ And the Tanuma/Taki giggling scene was my favorite too. XD I wish the graphics weren’t so awful! I would have loved a better screen shot of that scene. ;)

        • Katt 6:21 pm on March 24, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I am sure that Natsume won’t give up either group now. That would be far too depressing an ending to this uplifting series. XD Still, I wonder if it will end with him keeping his secret from Touko, Shigeru, and his school buddies…

We would have the same favourite scene, hahaha! I think that the Veoh streaming was the only one pixelated like this. Try the Megavideo tab on AnimeSeason; it should be better quality. :)

          • Minnie 6:24 pm on March 24, 2009 Permalink | Reply

As much as I like depressing endings, it just wouldn’t fit would it? The perfect ending would be for him to reveal it to them and have them accept that as part of who he is. ^^

Okie dokie. I tried the megavideo one but it didn’t work for me so I’ll try it out later when I’m not over my time limit for it. XD I need a better screenshot of that awesome scene. ^^

Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou Episode 10: Shigeru Gets the Spotlight?

Who's that kid Reiko is hanging out with?

Katt: Oh man, Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou episodes have reached the double digits! This has me both excited and sad. My fellow bloggers and I are really wondering about the note on which this series will end, so it will be great to finally get to see that. At the same time, I will miss watching this so much. Natsume, don’t leave me!!

The Youkai this time looked a lot like something that would have come out of Yume Nikki.

I was also surprised that Natsume was being eaten. That was completely unexpected, but it reminds us that the Youkai aren’t just making empty threats.

      • Katt 4:23 pm on March 13, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Hm, I’ve never heard of Yume Nikki. Must be creepy if there are youkais like that showing up in it. XD

That is a good way of looking at it. Most youkais either end up becoming friends or are defeated without becoming that much of a threat. The only other close-call like that was when Taki was being strangled.

I’ve been waiting you to blog this TZM! <3

This episode is excellent. I wouldn’t have thought that Reiko had such a history with Shigeru. That was quite a surprise! I think this episode is more Reiko and Shigeru-centric than Natsume, which is good and bad. The episode itself was fun to watch though. ^^

Natori is back next episode! He is total love so I don’t mind him popping up again. ^^;;;;;;;;;;;; Nice review like always TZM <3

      • Katt 4:29 pm on March 13, 2009 Permalink | Reply

It really was surprising! It really adds another dimension to Natsume’s bond with his guardians to learn that they’ve had connections with youkai, too, even if they didn’t realize it. I think that Shigeru would accept Natsume’s seeing youkai as fact because of that, instead of being sceptical about it like everyone else is.

You do love Natori, don’t you? XD I’m curious to see what new revelations he’ll bring this time!

Katt: Hey everyone, I’m back! Not that I was gone long enough to miss blogging a Natsume episode, but… I’m still back! After the lastĀ couple of weeks of absolutely astounding Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou episodes, I wouldn’t have anticipated this episode to be oh em gee amazing; it is a Natsume episode, though, and I would hope that more and more people who read this blog realize that every episode of this series is something special.

I thing this episode was really dramatic, Miya and Yasaka are disappear, may be they could not be together we can not know that, thats why the episode was dramatic (by the way Natsume’s speech was really emotional).

    • Katt 7:18 am on March 7, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Very true. Miya could have just opted to leave the world, either to nothingness or to the ideal of reuniting with Yasaka. It’s like the mystery of the afterlife: does it exist or not? You never know until you get there. Very dramatic.

Natsume’s speeches always do bring out the strongest emotions, don’t they?

Katt: It looks like there won’t be any more reviews from me this week, as I will be very busy getting ready for the trip I am leaving for on Wednesday. Before I leave, though, I am so happy that I will get the chance to write a review for this Natsume episode! I don’t know if I am just being over-emotional or what, but this episode tugged at all the right heartstrings, and let me tell you how… (More …)

Katt: The schoolwork just hasn’t seemed to stop these past few weeks, but next week will finally be a break! For now, though, I at least wanted to blog Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou before delving back into essays and midterms. Especially because of how awesome this episode is!!

I was also impressed by Nyanko’s reaction to Natsume’s disappearance – it was immediate and instinctive. Quite like one you’d expect from a… grandfather…

I’m hoping that the Natsume-Taki relationship ends up being platonic – I’m still rooting for Sasada, and Nishimura probably needs some Taki-love. I adored the way Taki resisted the urge to huggle-glomp Nyanko, though.

I hope we see more of Chobi-Hige, too. He’s quite endearing, de arimasu

I love this episode so much that I took screen shots even though I didn’t need to blog it. XD Taki and Natsume mutual understanding at the end was sweet. ^_^ I like it a lot. I want to see more interaction with her and his friend. <3 More than that, I really want to know what’s up with Madara and his real relationship with Natsume. Why does he go so far to help the “human”? XD Let’s see. ^_^

      Nice review like always TZM~!

@MisterEd: I was going to say that my grandfather wouldn’t react quite so naturally…but you know what? That actually is a good way to word it. I can’t say I’m rooting for Sasada, since I’m not really rooting for anyone, ha ha. I like that they are developing friendships over romances. =3

@Minnie: Oh wow, Minnie. XD I should have known you’d adore this episode since I liked it so much, hahaha. Twins! I think that Madara is just a big fat softie when it comes down to it, heehee. Thanks for your comment, as always.

Lovely episode, wonderful series. The ending left me…wanting though. I mean, he’s a guy, she’s a girl, they both have a treasure left behind by their respective grandparent-of-the-opposite-sex relating to youkai, and they both went through quite an ordeal. WHERE’S THE ROMANCE?? I know it probably won’t happen though, knowing the kind of series Natsume is. =[
Pretty obvious who I’m rooting for though =P Unfortunately for MisterEd, I don’t think NatsumeXSasada will happen, seeing as she moved away in the manga, meaning she most likely will not have any significant part in the story.

Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou Episode 6: Game of Life or Death

Someone who doesn't find Madara funny-looking?!

Someone who doesn't find Madara funny-looking?!

Katt: You know what is great yet unfortunate altogether? This season in which everyone gets sick. Because of it, I have a cancelled class today (which I only learned because I skipped my first class and got to check my e-mail later…heh). You all know what that means-blogging time! And really, this is an exciting episode of Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou that I wish I’d watched and blogged earlier.

      Awesome review like always TZM!!

I love that screen shot- the first one! Nyanko-sensei is going to be snuggled at for two whole episodes or more! ^___^ The moving picture is win too. I need an avatar of that. Haha.

I can’t wait for the next episode. >//< Natsume and Taki team up?? ^^ I’ve been waiting so long for a 2-episode arc. It’s finally here! Yay~

    • Katt 5:32 pm on February 12, 2009 Permalink | Reply

      Thanks like always, Minnie!!

I love the screenshot, too. XD Mostly because I think it’s about time someone’s first reaction to Nyanko-sensei was, “CUUUUTE!” instead of “fat” or “ugly”, hahaha!

As for the avatar, I’m way ahead of you. ;D
