Chrome Shelled Regios Episode 10: Piggyback Ride~

    Layfon looks happy.

What is the matter Layfon? You should look happy instead. =3

Minnie: I must admit I made this whole dramatic announcement in my Skip Beat post about it being my last before the move but come on, Regios came out a few days ago and it’s a must blog because I enjoy blogging it so much for unknown reasons. Also, I remember that I have to catch up on my manga blogging too so expect a couple of more posts from me before the move. Sorry about the tardiness of this post since I’ve been really busy this week. Anyways, Regios~ Let’s see if Nina will annoy me, Shante will die, and Felli will make me happy this week…

Chrome Shelled Regios Episode 9: Lesbian Queen ATTACK!

I know I should not laugh at this but I cant help it. Felli is just too awesome.

I know I should not laugh at this but I can't help it. Felli is just too awesome.

Minnie: Thanks to class being canceled two days in a row, I am able to do a lot of catchup on sleep and school work and blogging. I believe one of the times I blog Chrome Shelled Regios is because I skip class. This time, I’m not skipping class. My professor skip out on me. I guess you guys are in luck to get an early Chrome Shelled Regios review from me. Cheers?

Hahaha, our thoughts seem to be pretty much identical save for the stuff about Leerin/Layfon shipping and Queen Yuri Alshiera.

Can Nina get over herself already?

Apparently she also forgot that she owes Layfon her life. Seriously needs to learn her place. Oh and why do we never get to see Felli in the shower? :|

Savaris gets even cooler than before. I wonder if he has a grudge against Layfon too though.

Anyways, next episode, I spot a falling Shante. I hope for the worst!

Me too! Oh how I wish.

Felli=awesomeee!!! Her alone is enough to make me watch this show.

Yeah and I’m with Naz, why are there no Felli shower scenes? Nina gets tons of em but no one cares!

    • 7 6:02 am on March 11, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Ugh, Nina needs to grow up. I’m starting to think she still hasn’t done so ever since her supposed ‘resurrection.’ And that is why we can say that her maturity level is proportional to the size of her chest. ^_^

The story with Layfon was a bit lolwut. For one thing, I dont know why it seems as if the only way to get stronger is to fight illegal underground matches. Can’t they just fight Filth monsters instead? I think the whole thing was a little bit too dramatic.

Again with the boobgrabs. Now I’m really curious how the scoring system works.

And where is my Felli in the shower?! Bare back exposure is a killer teaser T_T.

      • Minnie 11:53 am on March 11, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I am like everyone else in this post. Sure Nina takes a long time in the shower and they want to show her frustration in there but come on, must they take out the Felli bits too? This is coming from a girl btw. XD And that bare back is definitely a teaser!

Nina really does need to grow up… -_-

      @7:

I dont know why it seems as if the only way to get stronger is to fight illegal underground matches

I think the reason he was fighting those was for money, not to get stronger. He easily overpowered that guy who got all pissed and mutated, so I’m sure it wasn’t a trial of strength. He needed money (since he’s an orphan), so he fought for it.

    • epy 8:16 pm on March 13, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Ah, nice to see other ppl annoyed at Nina. She will probably need yet another life lesson before getting over herself (in other words, Layfon saving her weak ass again). Yay for teh Shante hate too. The moment of the episode where Felli owns her is priceless. And the Queen? The whole “i’m ambiguosly bicurious” thing is getting old.

    • jin 7:11 pm on March 14, 2009 Permalink | Reply

How exactly is Nina being stupid? She’s come to accept that, yes, Layfon and her have differing beliefs, but decided (or is still deciding) that it’d be better to not be in the same platoon as Layfon’s. This is not about pride, rather it’s about trust. How can Nina trust someone who would do ANYTHING to survive even if it meant betraying his group (Heavens Blade in this instance)? We, the viewers, know that Layfon won’t betray them, but Nina doesn’t. Don’t set your omniscient knowledge on the characters.

    • Minnie 8:11 pm on March 14, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I don’t think Nina is being stupid either. I do find her arrogant though. That is why most of us are saying that she should get over herself. We all know that Nina has a brain since she is able to order her teammates around during battles successfully. However, her pride gets in the way too much which sucks because I start off liking her.. =/

    • jin 9:48 pm on March 14, 2009 Permalink | Reply

@Minnie: I think she’s more self-righteous than arrogant. She’s selfish and reckless to boot, but to me that makes her more interesting. Having a flawed character is better than a mary-sue, no? Besides, Layfon himself is not qute perfect himself; I only hope that the staff doesn’t glorify his faults all that much. I have no doubt that Nina’s going to develop anyway. Patience is a virtue. :)

      • Minnie 10:23 pm on March 14, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I’m hoping Nina will indeed develop. Lots of great characters start off nasty and grow into the favorites we know today. She indeed is a flawed character and it makes her interesting indeed, though not too likeable in comparison to characters like Felli.

Really… they don’t need to glorify Layfon’s faults too much… it is enough that he has a lot of screen time as it is XD (Understandable since he’s the main character but I hope you know what I mean)

        Thanks for the reply~

Steve is here with your mid-season review! Be happy!

Steve: Hello. This is Steve with your mid-season review. I would like to take a moment to say that I beat Minnie at posting for once. Anyways, I am doing this to increase my post counts to state what I think of this sleepy Winter season. Despite the Winter Season having a lot of uninteresting shows, there are a couple of worthy mentions. Warning: Steve biasness is extremely high. Proceed with caution.

Woah, woah, woah! Why is there some yaoi hints in my Regios?!

Minnie: I must admit something… if anyone were to ask me at the beginning of the Winter Season whether I would blog and like Chrome Shelled Regios, I would have probably said ‘no’. Now, I must admit this horribly stereotypical anime is growing on me… growing on me so much that… I’m the main blogger for it now. I can’t wait to blog Chrome Shelled Regios every week. Is this a disease or blessing? Never mind that, please read the rest of this entry on Episode 8~

      Want her with Layfon~

NEGATIVE! Felli-chan is the best one!

I do agree about annoying cat girl though. Ugh.

Oh, she gets a short scene with her lesbian Queen to. I hate that woman.

Aww, I kinda like her, for some strange reason.

I get the feeling that Felli’s brother is just trying to stir up drama. He knew that Gorneo had a beef with Layfon, so what does he do? Sends them off to a remote location where no one but the two platoons will know what happened. Fantastic!

      • Minnie 10:35 pm on March 3, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I love Felli as a character. ^___^ But I can’t see her with Layfon. Their relationship is a bit… weird. :P I guess I like Leerin with him because she’s normal. XD

Felli’s brother is the type of character I like though. I agree with you that he’s doing all this to stir up drama but that’s his character. For some reason, I simply love the voice actor and all the characters he does… :P So I might be biased. XD

        Thanks for the comment. <3

    • 7 11:11 pm on March 3, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Leerin seems to be getting a larger role in this anime

      Indeed. Very very large. ;-)

I am sad to say I am rather tormented between my preference on Leerin and Felli. Leerin is the *ahem* innocent type, but Felli is just oh so yummy!

As far as the episode goes so to speak, all I can say was that it was more than predictable. Felli’s brother whom we know is always up to no good in addition with a conflict in Layfon’s past with a present acquaintance is just a definite telltale sign of asking for trouble.

Other than that, what up with the boob grab fetish?!

      • Minnie 9:06 am on March 4, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Oh have you read the books or something 7?

Leerin is not that awesome of a character but she’s so normal compared to the other girls that she fits well with Layfon. Felli is my favorite no doubt and most of the time, that means pairing but in this case, no. XD

Agreed to your statement about Felli’s brother.

I hate the boob grab thing a lot… I thought it’s because I’m a girl but I know you’re a guy and you think so too so… what’s up with that?!

    • nazarielle 10:08 am on March 4, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Hmm… Well, I guess I just feel like we don’t know enough about Leerin, so on the one hand there’s this girl we barely know who isn’t really doing anything. While on the other hand we have Felli being awesome pretty much every episode. It’s hard for me to say I would prefer Leerin when we know so little.

Gah, I really oughta make a post about these past two episodes, but I’m feeling rather lazy D:

      • Minnie 9:55 pm on March 4, 2009 Permalink | Reply

That’s true and I agree with that. To be honest, I don’t ship any couple 100% but of the moment, I am going for Leerin/Layfon. I love Felli but she just doesn’t work with Layfon for me. If it changes over time, I might join your ship. XD Who knows?

I’ll love you read your posts once you write them. ^^

    • Silver 12:38 am on March 6, 2009 Permalink | Reply

About Leerin, she will eventually meet. Anyway, I definitely going for the Leerin/Layfon too since she’s so awesome. You will probably learn more about her personality more later on. Her personality is a strong one I could say. But yeah, she’s really normal compared to the other because she doesn’t have any power or anything or I think so far although it seems like the part where the queen saw her hinted something.

      • Minnie 1:44 pm on March 6, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I hope to see more of her personality too. :) I’m glad to hear she’s pretty normal because that’s the reason why I like the pairing right now. Thanks for hte info Silver!

    • X 4:51 am on March 6, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Yeah loved this episode! Those two still thinks they can beat Layfon, when the guy wasn’t even serious, I don’t think he ever was now that he is an adult. When he was a kid, his personality was different, one could say he was reckless and would go all out, like the flashback in the first episode.

If anyone read the novels, does anyone know why he quit being a heaven’s blade or why he was kicked out of his own city? Since I’m quite confused from others, since there seems to be different reasons.

@Minnie: I second that! I really hated both Gorneo and Shante, especially for whatever reasons they have for hating Layfon, since it is very very shallow. First of, I think the guy is just jealous cuz Layfon is so strong that he became a heavens blade when he was young. Also it seems that he might be jealous as well that Layfon could match up or perhaps even stronger than his older brother Savaris. Looking back the first episode, when Savaris said to the young Layfon that it would’ve been a relief if Layfon could easily be killed by his attack (during the time when Savaris attacked that filth monster).

I also love Felli and Leerin, but hate Nina. For me I prefer Leering to Layfon in the anime, but in the manga the “Missing Mail” I prefer Felli. Since you guys might not know this, but she is shown not as a loli but actually shown in normal size lol. I would hate the idea of Nina and Layfon pairing, Nina is just too dam angsty and emotional (unlike Layfon who actually have a good reason for being one, for all the crap that happened to his life). Nina’s emotional nonesense is too stupid, it shouldn’t be shown, that screentime would be a lot better spent on Felli or Leerin.

    • X 12:42 am on March 8, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Correction in my last post, Savaris is not Gorneo’s brother, but another guy who wanted the position of heaven’s blade but couldn’t attain when he challenged Layfon and lost. I think this is the main reason why Gorneo hates him, but I still don’t know how this event caused Layfon to be expelled as a Heaven’s Blade and in Grendan.

Chrome Shelled Regios Episode 7: Teamwork ALWAYS Prevails~

Sadly, it is not the reason youre thinking of.

Sadly, it is not the reason you're thinking of.

Minnie: Yes, I’m skipping English class today thanks to car problems causing me to come to class late. My English teacher is so strict that he literally will get mad at you if you come to class tardy. Because I am one frightened puppy, I don’t want to walk in and get a lecture. What scares me the most? Truancy for first period (besides spiders but that’s besides the point). Always. Even back in middle and high school. Whenever I come to school late, I skip first period and wait until second period to go to class. Instead, I’ll blog Regios because I feel like it. Minnie blogging on a Monday? What has the world come to? Monday is usually my day off from the week with Wednesday as back up if I blog on Monday out of necessity *cough* Late Skip Beat episode *cough* Moving on, let’s see what Layfon and company are up to.

Tardiness FTW! I usually come to class 30-45 mins late. Woot! I could care less and even sleep as long as I pass the test. ^^

I only managed to watch half of this episode because I got so sleepy all of a sudden. But woot, Layfon is ever the pimp! Where on earth nowadays can you have a boob grab only to be told ‘it’s okay’? :(

      • Minnie 4:30 pm on February 23, 2009 Permalink | Reply

You sound like a natural smart student 7! XD I hate tardiness so much that I will stay home from school if I have to. Though, I do sleep in class like you. XD How can you not for some of the boring classes?

You know what 7? You are SOOO right about the boob grab thing. How many guys can get away with that? Layfon of course! XD

    • nazarielle 3:14 pm on February 23, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Well, I think I’m going to hope that the next episode brings out my motivation to write about Regios, because this episode sure didn’t. Nina has an inferiority complex, Layfon has a tragic hero complex, and Sharnid and Harley are just extras along for the ride. Felli is awesome, and there’s plenty of her this episode, but not really anything worth writing about.

I’m still kinda surprised that he was able to beat one of those super mature Filth Monsters with just three people and now he can’t even solo a barely mature one. I guess it must have something to do with the fact that he has some piece of crap Dite that Harley just tried to make overnight. Please, someone force Layfon to go back to being one of those Heaven’s Blade wielders so he can get his awesome sword back.

      • Minnie 4:34 pm on February 23, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Sharnid and Harley indeed are extras along for the ride. We need more screen time on them, though I hope it doesn’t add up to something stupid like the letter thing. Though, I must admit the letter thing is amusing in that it made the whole episode seem really fillerish for no reason. XD I agree with everything else you said.

        I’m surprised too. Maybe they are trying too hard to make him seem more human? Or at least show that he has weaknesses? If that’s so, they fail at that since you are right about the weapon thing. I blame the weapon too. It’s not Layfon! He’s perfect! ^^;;

Uh oh. Minnie is back with Chrome Shelled Regios again~

Minnie: I know I say this a lot but I really want to stop blogging Chrome Shelled Regios already but I can’t. I guess it is one of those shows that is really addicting to blog, but not to watch for some reason. Today is an odd day. Every few minutes, the weather changes. One minute, it’s sunny. Another, it’s rainy. And another, it’s cold and windy. How odd. I don’t want to go outside but I’ll have to soon since I have a video game to buy. In any case, Chrome Shelled Regios time!

I agree with you about this being a filler. This episode concentrates way too much on a piece of paper. Oh wait, I mean this episode concentrates way too much on Layfon’s pimp-acity (if that’s even a word). ^^

Lmao. Judging by your words, 7, you must be as amused as I am at how fast Layfon is gathering his harem. It’s just too funny to take seriously for me. XD I hope the next episode isn’t too filler-ish. >__<

    • nazarielle 8:34 am on February 17, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Haha, I knew this was going to end up being a harem eventually. /sigh

The gist of the conversation is that the nasty creatures outside are aiming at their city now

I took it to be the other way around. That is, the city is aiming for the monsters. From what I understand, the cities are able to ‘move’ and ‘live’ because of those fairies and really, the people inside the domes don’t have any control over where they’re going, they’re just along for the ride. Which is why they try to make sure that the fairy is well tended to and all that. Not unlike local temple gods and praying to them for good weather and such. Although I’m guessing there’s a lot more behind the fairies than just that.

    • Dude01 9:27 am on February 17, 2009 Permalink | Reply

It did tell you what was in the letter. It told you in episode 1.Episode 1-5 tells you of Leerin’s day of sending the letter.

    • Minnie 10:04 am on February 17, 2009 Permalink | Reply

To Nazarelle: I’m not sure if I can agree with your explanation about how the city is aiming for the monsters, but I may be wrong. However, I do agree with you that there are more to the fairies than that.

To Dude01: They didn’t tell us exactly what’s in the letter in this episode. If you mean they narrate it for us in the earlier episodes, that might be true. I need to check later. In any case, it’s not important to me until Leerin become more of an important character. XD

    • nazarielle 10:32 am on February 17, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Well, that’s what Felli’s brother tells Layfon, so it should be handled with a bit of skepticism, given his past.

P.S. Felli is the best haremette :3
