The episode that will help or break Kyoko...
Minnie: At Hey, Say, Anime, there is a war going on. All of us are hyped up to take over the front page. Basically, the fractions are split between Minnie/Angel/Jory vs Ric/Steve/Duke vs Koala vs Raccoon. At the moment, Richie and TZM haven’t responded about which sides they will be on. Oh well. Since the boys decide to break off and not work together, it’ll be easier for the girls then. For me, I have Skip Beat to review and catch up on. Best of all, with my new blogging style! Yay~

“The more you love being with someone, the better things taste. What mysterious magic.” -Kyoko
“Just kidding. Did you think I was serious?” -Kyoko
My Lovely Quote
There is actually a lot to comment on for this episode. Heck, there are way too many good quotes in this episode to delete. This is why I love Skip Beat so much. A lot of the dialogue are so meaningful. Half the time, you want to rewatch the episode just to pick up on every tiny detail. I pick this particular quote because even though the episode is pretty much centered on Kyoko taking a step forward to reaching her dreams, I believe this episode focuses more on the relationship between Kyoko and Kotonami. Heck, the second half of the episode proves so.

“This feeling again…” -Moko-san
“Her face… when did she learn to act like this?” -Moko-san
The quote pretty much says that the more you enjoy someone’s company, the better the world feels around you, including food. I believe this is true. Why is that when I eat alone, the food doesn’t taste as good? A scene from Hyakko also talks about this. In any case, I really enjoy the interactions between Kyoko and Kotonami. They really are like great friends, one of which is in denial. Hell, I’ll go even further and say that their relationship is like two lovers even- one is busy chasing after one while the other is trying hard to deny these feelings. I might not be a yuri fan but I can at least make this comparison. I don’t think these two should ever have a relationship like that but it proves how close friendships can be to the real deal. The trust between the Love Me duo is growing and for a good reason! More Kyoko/Kotonami friendship please~

“I feel kind of sorry for them. Sure, Ms. Koenji’s team’s “Thank you” was good, but this other team’s expressed so much more emotion. The feeling of relief when your best friend , who you didn’t want to lose, forgives you.” -Random Girl
“Could this be the difference in their acting abilities?” -Random Girl
My Quick Summary
Actually for such a deep and beautiful episode, I can summarize it fairly easily. Since Erika the ***** decides to steal Kyoko’s routine, Kyoko comes up with a new one on the spot when the director tries to speak up. Much to everyone’s surprise, she is going to use the drinks again. Coming back with a can and bottle, she hands Kotonami a bottle and tells Kotonami to follow her lead. The two start the act. Kyoko squirts Kotonami with the can. Everyone’s surprised. Then, Kyoko cutely sticks out her tongue and says she’s kidding about getting mad at Kotonami. Amused, Kotonami is ready to squirt back at Kyoko when her bottle explodes on her. This causes the two and everyone else in the room to laugh. The two friends have made up. For her last line, Kyoko jabs at Erika by using her line. Score!

“A fine job? Someone who thought up a whole new routine in a matter of seconds?” -Director
“She had it all planned out? In just those few seconds?” -Moko-san
Now, it is time for the director and his staff to make the selection. The Director is impressed with Kyoko for coming up with a new routine so quickly. Like how it is meant to be, the Love Me duo make it through together. Before Kyoko leaves with Kotonami, the Director decides to chat with her. The Director wants to know if she calculated the way the can and the bottle will explode. Indeed she did. When Kotonami knows of this, she is also impressed with Kyoko. Kyoko is definitely the real deal. The two are able to hang out in town before nightfall. They look at dresses and eat ice cream. Even though Kotonami doesn’t want to be in a relationship with a good friend, she can’t help but consider Kyoko her friend. It really is magic!

“Shallow girls who say that are only pretending to be friends.” -Kotonami
“I don’t want to be in some bothersome relationship with a ‘true friend’.” -Kotonami
Even though Erika has lost to Kotonami again, she doesn’t give up in trying to sabotage the girl. However, she is caught in the fountain before she can do any real damage. Kotonami tells her off that she shouldn’t try to resort to violence to get her way. Actually, compared to Kotonami, Erika has a better life. That is why if she wants to truly rival Kotonami, Erika must stop and smell the roses now and again. She can’t just do what she does to win. She must actually try to move people with her talent, not her money. When that day comes, she will be a worthy rival for Kotonami. What a great ending. Oh and let’s not forget the short scene at the end where Kotonami and Kyoko are being filmed with Ren and Maria watching. Who knew that Kyoko drop out of school and loves the uniform?

“If you want to beat me, step down from your world a bit, and get your hands dirty. Do that and… I’ll recognize you as my rival.” -Kotonami
My Minnie Ramblings
This episode is incredible. A classic Skip Beat episode in which Kyoko proves again that she is no ordinary girl is here in show biz for revenge. Next episode, we will be able to see more Kyoko/Ren goodness. We can’t forget about their odd, yet loveable relationship right? In any case, this episode makes me realize how creative the mangaka/Kyoko is. The way Kyoko gets out of hectic situation always seems to amaze me. If Skip Beat continues to be this awesome, I won’t mind giving it a 10/10 by the end of the season. The only down side is the music and that’s not much. Otherwise, this is one anime I believe both genders will enjoy for years to come. Kyoko is quite a heroine too!
Minnie’s Overall Rating for Episode: 10/10
Minnie’s Anticipation for Next Episode: 7/10
