Haruta... you prove to be as loveable as always!

Minnie: Even though ToraDora is from the fall season, I will use my new blogging style to review it! So far, I haven’t heard any complaints. Actually, I’ve been getting a fair number of positive responses to my new blogging style so I will stick with it for now. Today, the weather’s nice. It’s as cold as ever but at least the sun’s out. Plus, thanks to talking early in the morning with Raccoon aka Taan, I remember one of my favorite songs of all time! Drastic My Soul from S-Cry-Ed! I am listening to it non-stop until I have to watch Toradora of course. Enough of my chitchat since I am late with this review enough as it is. What is up with Taiga, Ryuuji, and gang this week?

“Like I said, it’s just ridiculous to believe in a stupid jinx like that.” -Ami

“As for me, it’s my job to have my picture taken and the pictures are sold all over Japan. It doesn’t matter to me whoever is holding on to my pictures and whatever I think of that picture is, a picture is just a mere picture.” -Ami

My Lovely Quote
Oh man. There are so many awesome quotes in this show! Before, I watch ToraDora for fun and didn’t notice but this anime really deserves to be one of the top animes this season and next. The awesome quotes are endless. I have to delete a couple of nice ones to make space! Even though the title quote isn’t the best one, I pick it because it summarizes the whole episode quite well. I mean this whole episode starts and ends with that Taiga good luck rumor right? Anyways, it also helps that my favorite character in the entire anime says it. But of course, there is some realism behind that quote. We hear rumors all the time. How many of them are true? This episode explores that in its charming manner like always. I love Toradora.

My Quick Summary
The following day after the cultural festival is over, Taiga is almost tackled by her two classmates because of a rumor. According to the rumor, anyone who has been hit by Taiga at the cultural festival has found happiness. This is why everyone is now excited to touch Taiga to also be happy. The first one to touch Taiga is Ami who is just being her wonderful self around Taiga. But in any case, there’s another rumor spreading. Unlike the first, Taiga is happy about this one because it’s about Kitamura stealing Taiga from Ryuuji. The bastard! Anyways, Taiga is flustered around Kitamura and to make it worst, he has to stick around her and make her choke. Poor Ryuuji since he has to buy orange juice for Taiga thanks to mister perfect Kitamura.

“It’s time to check on the latest scoop on Ami. The password is: kissiwannaknow.” -Minorin

Near the vending machines, Ryuuji sees Ami on the phone, talking to someone. Curious, he moves closer only to have her hanging up and teasing him to death. Since he’s not interested in her secret, Ami does what she does best and plays a trick on him by pressing the wrong drink when he tries to choose the orange juice. Ami makes a quick comment about how childish he is to drink orange juice. In any case, Taiga makes sure to demonstrate how upset she is at Ryuuji by kicking him. Later, he and Minorin pick pictures to buy. Of course, he picks the one with him holding her hand. When Minorin learns of this, she simply says she will also buy it. Later in the classroom, Ami notices Minorin staring at her form to buy pictures and make her wise comments about how a picture is a picture.

“But what if it were to be true, what should Taiga do so that she herself can be happy?” -Ryuuji

“You’ve probably  just been eating junk food. You’re really so childish.” -Ryuuji

After Ryuuji and Taiga separate, Ryuuji goes to the supermarket to buy meat for dinner. There, Ryuuji meets Ami. They talk about Taiga and that rumor again. To Ryuuji, he wonders if Taiga is happy since she is rumored to make other people happy by touching her. Smiling, Ami knows that Taiga has found happiness. As the two went on their separate ways, Ryuuji offers Ami one of his packages. She is touched by this but of course she doesn’t say so. Being all motherly, Ryuuji tells her to eat right instead of junk food because that’s childish. Ami is flustered after this. Meanwhile, Taiga meets with Kitamura and gets into an awkward conversation about touching and such. At the end of the episode, it is Yacchan that has the last word that Taiga is happy because she is part of their family.

“If I just rub Taiga like this and eat delicious food with my family, that is when I am the happiest.” -Yacchan

My Minnie Ramblings
Again, even after a week of absense, ToraDora comes back as awesome as ever. I really can’t put my finger on it. I enjoy watching this show. I enjoy reviewing it. I enjoy the characters the plot. There really is nothing wrong with this anime but I still feel like something is lacking. Maybe it’s just me. I really look forward to Toradora every week eagerly because it is pretty addicting. I don’t know why either. For this episode, I really love that Ami/Ryuuji moment because I am cheering for those two. I know that Ami is just an excuse to push Taiga towards Ryuuji and Ryuuji towards Taiga but I can’t help but adore their interactions. I feel like there is a lot more to Ami than she puts on. I can’t wait to see what’s up with Kitamura and the President next episode too. Toradora is so rewarding. What is it with this anime that makes it so refreshing even though it uses the familiar elements?!
