Three minutes in and I already like this guy.
Minnie: Good Morning/Afternoon/Night everybody! My, my, what do we have here? A Skip Beat episode. Today, I was sleepy and lazy so I was half-asleep for two hours. Then, I remember today is Monday and I watch Skip Beat and blog it on Monday. I jumped out of my bed and made pizza. Now, I am watching Skip Beat with most of the pizza gone. This proves how much I love this anime and I am willing to blog it the minute it comes out. Too bad next week I will either pay to watch it earlier or wait and watch it later for free. Such a hard decision. Anyways, Kyoko and Moko team up this week! You can’t miss this!
The director places his legs on a pile full of cash and says that he will not sell ability to Erika. The three servants call Erika on the phone about this and as much as she hates to hear it, the director will not give the position to her unless she earns it herself. That’s the way to go Director! So, in the end, Erika’s plan fails but she still tries to act high and mighty in front of Kotonami. That’s cute Erika. Anyways, it’s time for the draw and well, Kyoko is holding up the line by not drawing due to her imagination about failure. Kotonami forces a piece of paper into her hand and declares that the purpose of these papers are to determine the groups and nothing else.
The director, dressed like a gangster, walks in to find the two he listened to yesterday have a pair look. It’s the ridiculous, flashy pink uniform too! Holding back his laughter, he sits down and announces that to him, a commercial is like a form of art. What does he mean by that? A commercial only lasts ten seconds but within that ten seconds, the company must make a firm impression on the consumer about the product. Next, he announces the rules for the second stage. Everyone picks out a slip of paper. There are identical numbers on the papers with an A or B. Actually, these two people will be partners. In other words, Kyoko will pair up with Kotonami and Erika with the clumsy girl from last episode. The skit is that A and B like the same guy but A confesses to the guy who secretly likes B, which will provoke a fight between A and B. However, despite them fighting, A and B are good friends and they have fond memories. The director will give all pairs twenty minutes to plan it out and perform in front of him and the judges. This doesn’t mean he will pick both girls from the same pair. He will pick any two girls he likes the most.
Of course, Miss Princess has to object to this idea because Kotonami and Kyoko are on the same group and they both know each other longer than anyone else from the same agency so they will have the advantage. Plus, they even wear the same uniform to show how close they are! Angry, Kyoko retorts that they’ve only been friends since yesterday! They have no advantage at all! Still, Erika wants them to have no preparation time since she thinks they have an advantage anyway. To solve this, the director suggests they draw again. However, Kotonami is against this idea and says that she rather have no preparation time over drawing again. A frustrated Kyoko has to deal with separation time away from Kotonami, pulling her hair in the process with the director watching in amusement.
Since Kyoko is so lost in thought and stress, she forgets to watch the skit performed by Erika and her partner. Now, it is her turn with Kotonami. They walk up to each other after getting a snarky line from Erika. Kyoko is very nervous, trying to run the scenario in her head. She is so lost and confused! What should she do? Luckily, Kotonami tells her to just cooperate and follow her lead. Understanding, Kyoko gets ready for the performance. The time starts and the two start. Kotonami simply glares at Kyoko, who doesn’t know what to do. Kotonami goes up and slaps Kyoko across the face, surprising the judges. Angry, Kyoko knows she must slap Kotonami back. However, much to her and the judges’ surprise, Kotonami starts to fall on the ground and cry so Kyoko stops her slap midway and instead apologizes to her friend. The director drops his pen. Kotonami bows and exits the stage with Kyoko. The time is not up yet. Wow?

The girls begin to discuss what they just saw. Throughout the entire skit, there was only one line. However, the actions convey more emotions than words and the girls are very impressed what they saw. Actually, they are more than impressed. They even discuss what just happen. It is written clearly up in that screenshot. I am in awe what I saw too! The two have to know each other really well to create a scene like that. Actually, Kotonomi talks about it with Kyoko about how she knows that Kyoko will respond like that. This requires Kotonami to trust Kyoko. Good job Team Pink!
For the last part of the episode, there’s a bit of dirty fighting going on. The man next to the director suggests he hires Kotonami and Eirika since they are both good and that Kotonami leaves such a strong impression. However, the director is having this reconcilation round to test Team Pink to see if that last round was luck or talent. But since it is the reconcilation round, it is up to Kyoko to think of something for Kotonami to respond too. She must make the first move and prove herself. Of course, this is giving her a headache.
I don’t like that discussion between Eirika and Kotonami outside the room since Eirika sucks a lot. I hate her. She admits that Kotonami is talented but insults her partner as an amateur! Angry, Kotonami tells Eirika off that Kyoko is weird but she gets the job done. Kotonami has faith in Kyoko and hopes this faith is well placed. After she tells Eirika this, Eirika spies on Kyoko to find that she indeed is weird. Behind this weirdness though is a girl that is trying to come up with a scenario for her partner to respond to when she sees the product in front of her. An idea!
You know what sucks? One, you spill that idea to the director by accident. Two, your best friend’s rival spies on you and steals this idea since they go first. Three, your partner is depending on you to make this lasting effort and if you don’t, it’s toast for both of you. Yeah. Everything has gone bad for Team Pink. The director realizes that their idea has been stolen after the look on Kyoko’s face in front of Kotonami. However, at the end of the episode, Kyoko is all fired up to come up with one at the last minute. How will this go? I don’t know yet. We just have to wait until the next episode to find out how this arc will end.
Awesome episode is awesome. I like Kotonami since the very beginning and I like her even more now. Eirika’s just a jerk and I want her defeated. If she is chosen along with Kotonami instead of Kyoko or anyone else, I’ll be really mad. I don’t want him to win at all. Again, Skip Beat never fails to amaze me with how creative it is with each arc. I enjoy this anime immensely and I hope the rest of you guys do too. Please comment! I love you all.
